Atletico Flames Futbol Club

Atletico Flames Futbol Club (AFFC) was formed in 2003 as Flames Soccer Club, the competitive branch of Elizabethtown Youth Soccer Association (EYSA). The club began with mostly volunteer parent-coaches and only a few teams. Now after only 7 years we field 16 teams with paid coaches having previous high school, college and/or international playing experience as well as current or previous high school and/or college coaching experience.

Our teams, U10 and above, participate in the Kentucky Select Soccer League .

The club uses fields at Mike Carroll Soccer Complex and Nicholas Street Fields. The city of Elizabethtown is currently building a new SportsPark that is scheduled to open in 2012. This complex will have state of the art facilities with over 10 new soccer fields. Visit our parks and recreation city site for more information.

All of AFFC’s administration is performed by parent volunteers.

Club News

KSSL league games have begun and AFFC is off to a great season.

U10Boys have won their first 4 games against Javanon, LFC Red, LFC White and SIU.

After a hard first game against Javanon our U10Girls tied LFC in their second game of the season.

High heat cancelled the U11Boys first game of the season, but that didn't discourage them, they won both games this past weekend against Jessamine and Mockingbird.

U11Girls won their first game of the season against LFC and tied Javanon 1-1 this past weekend.

U12Boys White had a successful first weekend with a win against SIU and Mockingbird White.

With only one game this season the U12Boys Maroon tied Mockingbird Gold 0 - 0.

The U12Girls are finding success early this season with 3 wins against Nelson, Derby City and FC of KY.

After a hard loss their first game to Nelson, the U13Boys are coming back strong, tied LSA and then defeated Nelson in a rematch this past weekend.

U13Girls lost their first game of the season and the second was cancelled due to heat, but this will not stop them, great things to come from this team.

The first game was cancelled due to the heat; the second was on an hour and a half delay, the U14Boys lost to Montgomery 1 - 0. They battled the Legends on Friday which ended in a disappointing loss. But this past Sunday they had a rematch with the Legends which ended in a 1 - 1 tie.

Our U9Girls Academy heads to Nelson this coming weekend for their first Academy Playdate...good luck girls!
